K2543 input sensitivity

Is it possible to change input sensitivity of this kit? I know it works on 12V (from point input), and to modify kit so it can wok from “digital” signal (0,5V or so)? I would like to remove points at all and to install optical or inductive sensor instead of points?

Thank you.

If you adapt the k2543 print, you can make it work with a inductive sensor (12V). I’ve have build one and it works fine. This is what i have done:

  • removed R1 & R2 (330 Ohm / 1W).
  • replaced R3 (150 Ohm) with R1.
  • connected the NO inductive sensor with 12V & 0V.
  • connected signal from inductive sensor with connectionpoint 2 on the K2543 print.

Sensortype used is NBB4-12GM50-E2-V1-3D from Pepperl+fuchs.

Good luck

So,

normally opened sensor is placed in circuit (I presume that you had mo make some mechanical modifications to points.

Can you please explain electrical modifications?

K2543 circuit works when input is grunded, so it is same thin when connecting N.O. inductive sensor?

Thanks,
T.

And yes, one more additional thing.
Does this kit (device) has overheating protection for HT coil? For instance, we turn key ON, but do not start engine, and If points happened to stay closed position hole time, in normal (points) used without kit, HT coil will overheat.
Since I am not electronics expert, I am not sure is T2 conducting whole time while points are closed or just short time needed for spark to energize?

Thanks,
Tomi
