K2543 blown transistor!

Hello,

small question,
I assembled a K2543 and it worked fine about an hour, then stop the engine.
After that, impossible to start the car, no ignition.

In the end I noticed that the 2N2219A transistor T1 was dead,
I replaced this one with an identical, no more worries to restart.

But then the same problem is back, this transistor die again after several cycles start / stop the engine.

An idea to protect the transistor? (Freewheeling diode?)

Thank you.

little detail
the base and the emitter of T1 (2n2219a) are short-circuited.

If correctly installed and used, the unit does not need extra protection.
A couple of questions:
What is your application?
Voltage?
Current consumption?

If you can provide LINKS (e.g. by using a free online picture base) to HI-RES and SHARP pics of your assembly (both solder- and component side)
and hook-up then we can take a look and provide some feedback.

Hi, thank you for fast answer.

Application ; in an ancien car with 12volts standart ignition, cap removed to install the K2543.

Current… don’t check this one, have to do then.

No troubles for pictures, I don’t need for this time, I don’t have the unit here in this moment.
