Hello everyone, I just plugged my K8200 for use in micro milling machine, so no heating resistance or thermistor. The 3 axes initialize correctly, but when I run a manual instruction or a Gcode already used on another K8200, the computer indicates that the Gcode is sent, the visual screen is ok at all levels, but the machine does not shut, nothing physical happens.
Would anyone have an idea to help me with this problem? Thanks in advance.
What software are you using to prepare and send the Gcode to the printer?
Do you get any console output from the transfer to verify that the K8200 is receiving anything? What messages are coming back from the printer?
What firmware modifications have you made to the K8200 controller, if any?
Is the Velleman power supply connected and providing a stable voltage?
What is the content of the Gcode you are testing with? If these are 3D print jobs, the controller is probably waiting for the bed and extruder to reach temperature before any motion begins.
I’d love to see some pictures of your milling setup, if you’d care to share.
I use a K8200 for two years, and to no longer do the extruder - milling modification, I mounted a second just to have a micro final milling machine.
The Gcode I tried is created with Repetier, it works great on my first K8200. I wrote it manually, so there is no temperature control or ventilation.
I am surprised that the axis initialization commands are working well, which indicates a correct connection of motors and sensors.
When I want to send a command in manual, the machine does not react, when I run a Gcode, the screen indicates the sending of the commands, I can see the different coordinates displayed on the manual panel, the red lights and green of the machine control board flash quickly indicating correct communication, no error message comes back, but the machine does not move. ???
When, on the screen, the Gcode is finished, the play mode stops normally as if everything had gone well. The only defect is the speed of realization, if I send a Gcode with very well defined speeds which should last about 20 minutes, the computer applies the Gcode in about 1 minute, as if the speeds are not taken into account in scrolling the program.
All this is very strange, and I do not know how to diagnose this problem.
I’m new to this forum, and do not know how to integrate photos, should I copy them from Word?
