Hi everyone,
I’m planning to swap the stock hotend to an e3dv6 hotend.
The thermistor supplied with the e3d can be changed and a small modification in the firmware to: #define TEMP_SENSOR_0 5
Most of us know the Velleman K8200 runs @ 15v and not @12v, Although I have read (on the forum) it almost uses 50 watts of power, which obviously the stock board and power supply can’t handle. Now my question, Is it possible to even use the e3d heater cartridge (40w @ 12v) and limit its power. Heating time is not a problem for me. Any help is very helpfull.

Hy,
you can also use the K8200 original cartridge with the E3D. With new E3D cartridge you have to tune a new PID
Hi, Tag
Thank you for your response, Is the K8200 board capable of running the e3d heater?
If not, i’ll probably use the stock heater.
Yes, I use a 12V 40W cartridge, it’s ok since more than one year, just adjust the pid
Good prints
When I Get my V6 i’ll start with the e3d heater and adjust Pids and autotune.
Thanks for the advice
