Capacitors for my Velleman K4040

Hello,

I want to replace the big Blue capacitors on my Velleman K4040. They are:

C37-C38 - 1000Uf/400V
C39-C42 - 220Uf/450v

Two questions please ?

  1. what type/brand/specs are these
  2. If I replace they are snap in type - are they a standard two prong and would this type be a good replacement ? I want to be sure before I order because they are NOT cheap and will take a while - THANK YOU…Love my amp !

The brand and specs are printed on the caps. There are no other specs that you should take into consideration.
Sorry, we cannot determine if the caps you propose are suited.
Please check their datasheets and check if the pinout corresponds with the K4040 PCB.

Okay, I have been doing that - checking the actual caps to be sure. I did notice the large blue ps caps are Philips. The rest have no branding. I also noticed that two different user manuals have very slightly different specs specifically on C37-C38

One last question , please ?

On the attached diagram from the manual, for the snap in caps , it is showing that the unit can take either size CAP / spacing (larger or smaller) because it has two sets of circles, one dotted, two + and two - …I know that is not for a 4pin, they are two pin …but wanted to understand what the diagram is showing…THANK YOU

Correct, the PCB is suited for two sizes of caps.
