I’ve got this project where I am making some lighting for an aquarium. I would very much like to dim on/dim off the incandescent light bulb at a specific hour a day to give a real night/day effect (for example dim on for 20 minutes at 10 am, and dim off for 20 minutes at 10 pm. Automatically, ofcourse.
First question: can k8028 dimmer do exacly that (could not figure out whether or not it has a built-in clock)
Second question: in case not, is it possible to modify it to do that with relative ease, or are there any other products which does that job easier or less expensive?
Doesn’t that unit only shut down the power at a specific time? Or can I use it to tell the 8028 that ‘at this point, start dimming down, then shut down the power when the light is dimmed’…?
I’ve maybe not made myself clear enough. I’ve come to understand that 8028 need an external clock to function like I want it to. My question was related to the clock you linked to. It seems to me, reading the description, that it only open and shut down power at userspecific times (correct me if I’m wrong). If a device shut down the 8028, the lighting will not fade out, but shut down immidiately. So, does the clock only output a simple datasignal to tell the 8028 circut “start dimming down now” (and the equivalent ‘dimming up’ procedure)?

You need a clock with a dry contact output, not a clock that cuts the power to the K8028.
This contact is connected to the ‘dim’ input of the K8028.
