Calibration hps10

Ive owned a hps10 for about 2 years or more and it has always worked just fine until about a month ago when I was testing a friends amplifier but it was showing a distorted wave even when the scope wasnt hooked up to anything.

SO I decided to reset it and make sure it was calibrated but when setting it to 1v/div you can hardly see the square wave which never happened before. and if I zoom in at a smaller voltage/div the wave is twisted and not anything like I’ve seen the scope do before.

let me see if I can take a picture at both voltage settings.

this is at .1ms and 1v/div

I know its blurry but its the best i can do with an old camera.

ive seen others photos and ive seen to the right 2 volts or more being read. but mine is showing .2 or less voltage which would explain what im seeing in the first photo. the question is… why?

I remember when i first bought the unit and it took me all of 1 minute to calibrate it. very easy.

FYI - ive re-read the manual and i have everything set the way it says. probe at x10… scope setting at x10 with ac sellected. .1ms/div and 1v/div.

Did you try with a different probe ?

no i did not try another probe.

id gladly try another one if i had another probe… money is too tight to go buy one. but it very well could be the problem.
