2 X K6710 IR TX. perfect 4 years, now same problem in 1 week

These K6710 kits ( I have 2 of them as I have as well 2 receivers in different rooms) were interchangeable.

They worked like a charm for many years and I was very happy about them.
Now, one week ago after I changed the battery, it looked like one kit went continuously transmitting, unstoppable, only pushing a button on the keypad or pulling out the battery stops it transmitting.

As I had 2 of those K6710 it wasn’t really a problem, I still had one reserve…
But very strange, only one week after the other, the second kit also started this very same erratic behaviour… and it happened at once without even changeing the battery for that one…

Now this really is spooky!

Anyway, I now have a big problem because I can not use ambient lighting, fans etc in 2 rooms.

Any suggestions of what is happening or which component is failing here?
Are there spares available for example the keypad, m3004 ic and the oscillator source?
Other components are easy available…

If spare parts can not be found,
Is there a compatible 15 ch IR transmitter kit which I can use with my two existing 15-Ch IR receivers?

Thanks in advance!

Tom.

Hi,

Have you looked at the K8049.
Since you did not provide a part number for your receiver you may want to check the specs to make sur it will work with it.

You can read more about it from the link below.

I hope this helps.

K6710 has been obsolete for many years.
The problem is most likely related to the keyboard.
We still have some spare keyboards. As we reserve them for customers that actually have a K6710, we require them to return the defective keyboards.
Please return them to:

Velleman Projects Tech. Dept.
Legen Heirweg 33

Belgium.

Thank you for the quick reply.

One of the remotes is working again and as you suggested it was a keyboard problem, in this case the problem was located on the connector connection.
It is working fine again. Thanks for the tip which made me check this out.

The other remote really has a keyboard problem ( it was used more and for a longer time.)

How much is it for a replacement if I sent back the old keypad?

Thanks again in advance! My problem is already solved for 50%.

Kind greetings,

Tom.

Estimated price would be 10 euro.

Can you give me an exact price for 2 keypads and the “print connector” ( there seems to be a problem here too.)
Old keypads will be sent / returned as asked of course.

Grtz,

Tom.

Sorry, no exact pricing trough this forum.
If you want to, you can add a small note to your repair item, stating that you want to be given an exact price before they return your goods.
Make sure to mention that you require a spare connector too.
